Mounted Enforcement Clinic

This clinic is designed for the Peace Officer with an average riding ability. The Officer needs to be able to identify their tack/equipment, catch, handle, saddle, and bridle their own horse, and safely maneuver at a walk, trot, and canter. This clinic teaches the basics of mounted patrol equitation,the purpose of mounted patrol, equine psychology, sensory and obstacle training, arrest techniques while horseback, parade riding, mounted patrol formation riding, search grid patterns, and search and rescue operations. This is a 5 day long class and runs Monday-Friday 0800-1700, with a 1 hour lunch. 

Upon completion of this clinic and testing, the Certified Peace Officer will obtain 40 recognized P.O.S.T. hours from the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy and a certificate that certifies the horse used in the clinic.
